Welcome

I hope you will enjoy this blog.
This is for everyone, who like myself loves to make art and is interested in just about anything that can be done art-related.
This is why I call it Art Unlimited.
I do things differently and do different things all the time.
There is just too much out there to do the same thing all the time.

More on Love...

...there is so much to love. I believe the secret to happiness lies in finding as much to love about our lives as possible. Love for ourselves is as important as love for others. Love for what we do in our daily lives is as important as the love for the things surrounding us. When we love,  the object of our love thrives and becomes beautiful. To love means to pay attention, to care for and have an interest in the wellbeing and success of whom or what we love. I have found that I am happiest when I am completely immersed and at full attention to what I am doing - being in the moment so to speak, cliché as it may be it is still true.
The kind of flow one can experience when totally engaged is really such a thrill that it's almost impossible to cut oneself loose from whatever one is doing when experiencing this state of mind. It really is like child's play. The funny thing about this is that I can find this kind of total attention in just about anything I do. Even when I am beginning a task that may not rank super high on my list of things I love to do I still try make every effort to do what I do to the very best of my capabilities. That seems to be the very best strategy to find enjoyment in just about everything we do, not just the things we want to do but also the many things  we "have " to do to keep our lives together. A really good system to keep things flowing, besides the absolutely, indisputably wise motto of my king of optimists husband  "find something to love about it" is to just relabel a task from from " I have to do this today" to " today I really want to do  this". All that's necessary for that shift is to schedule time for a project and then give it all the energy to get it done as well as you can possibly do it. Even the most mundane jobs become something one can actually love to do because , oh dear another cliché! a job done well is not only worth doing but is FUN doing and when you have fun you can LOVE what you are doing. So easy! Everybody should try it.

Digital Doodling

I am am the biggest fan of doodling.
I can not sit down with my hands still, can not hold a telephone conversation without doodling away and some of my best ideas and concepts happen with this free play going on.
But that is not really the purpose of doodling at all .
Doodling is about playing, about just letting something happen.
It is not premeditated, does not follow a path and is without specific purpose  -
it is complete pure fun.
Having access to a laptop and photoshop with all its incredible  digital possibilities is a new doodling field for me  ~ I just scratched the surface......
I like to take one of my originals and play out as many possibilities as I can possibly think of and this is the kind of stuff I come up with:

the original : Rosa Rose

and here a couple more of the doodling results

 AND SOME MORE:

Loving Life In The Garden

Did anybody have a chance to notice what a beautiful day it was? This is California at it's best.
Waking up to a clear blue sky -that's
right, no coastal gloom- just clear sunshine dappling through the leaves, nothing could be a better mood booster. And since it is my day off I got to actually take it in, slowly.

a little bit of gardening ,getting hands dirty, smelling the earth, pulling weeds
watering and talking to my plants is the best before starting the normal chores, like    bookkeeping + laundry

LUNCHBREAK

And then, when all the little jobs are done I get to sit down and work on my new little painting. Another CUPCAKE

Just the underpainting - as usual there is not enough time in a day

Making of the Bathing Beauties

These girls are pretty much a result of boredom - which is a rare state of mind for me.
I am tending my booth at the Sawdust Festival and realize that I can't paint. The set up is to small and I like to spread out when I work.
My friend Patricia O'Neill who makes some of the coolest small sculptures told me about Creative Paperclay.Great Product. It's perfect for small sculptures, easy to work with and dries fast.
So, after the paperclay dried I decided to make molds with Kreemtex from Artmolds.
And this is what it looks like after about 12 layers:
After this is thoroughly dry you peel it back like a rubber glove and you have a really nice strong rubbermold.
I decided to cast some trial figurines with castrite also available through artmolds. It dries pretty quickly and when you peel it back you get this:
Then you need to let it dry again for about a couple of days. When the cast is dry I use my Dremel tools and start finisiung and and sanding until I have it right. Then I make another mold which I can use for all types of casting .Fun! Fun! Fun !
